Avada is a true multi-purpose WordPress theme. It is great to start with for beginners and at the same time, it offers the flexibility and advanced features that savvy WordPress users require.

Avada offers a clean and minimalistic design ready for mobile users. The layout is fully responsive and retina ready (good for Macbook pro and iPad 4gen. users). It has its own powerful admin panel and for most WordPress users it will be quick and easy to setup. If needed you can also install the demo content and start working from there on. This is sometimes a much faster approach to get a new website structure started up and you can see in your own site how the features are used. For more inspiration on great and very customizable WordPress themes you could also take a look at this article from themecrunch.com as it has listed more than 40 WP themes that fits this category.

In this article, I will give you a detailed review of Avada and take you through some of the cool features it offers.

Avada has two main layout styles, a wide and boxed style. The wide style has a more corporate look and has lots of white space. The boxed style is another good option, especially for designers that want to add a textureed background.

The demo includes a lot of cool homepage designs you can be inspired from and also shows the power of the theme. There is no page builder included but the shortcodes allow you to set up more or less any layout you want. This means you can build from scratch or lead the demo and customize these pages.

The theme includes a full width slider, content areas, a blog section and other elements that can be implemented via a shortcode.

The shortcode system is extensive and offers a great toolbox for building unique pages. From web elements to icons, media, sliders and typography; you can simply insert the appropriate shortcode and instantly have the item you want. Avada supports a variety of sliders. You can choose from the following:  Layer Slider 4.0 , Revolution Slider, Elastic Slider, Flexslider, Themefusion Slider and Post Sliders

All these sliders are integrated within the theme and you can have access to the them using shortcodes whereever you like. Check the theme demo to see the shortcodes and the sliders in action!

The theme has a very comprehensive approach to all the elements within the page. They have placed dozens of samples for the user to pick on. You can build your website much faster by installing the demo data and changing the content to your own needs.

The theme includes tons ofpage templates and shortcodes and all are nicely illustrated in the demo

The blog section is really clean and simple. Post featured images are available in large and medium sizes, but can also be videos, slider etc.

As most multi-purpose themes Avada also offers a great set of portfolio features and templates. Again the demo illustrate many of the options availble.

The Avada multi-purpose WordPress theme is great choise for both beginners and seasoned developers for building many different types of websites. Most of the features needed for modern websites are build in and this minimize the need for adding 3rd party plugins that may require extra effort for styling etc.

  • Do you have any idea how to change the footer from 4 columns to 3? I can’t find a setting anywhere?

Hi Mark, not possible in the options as far as I now. I recommend that you install the child theme and copy the footer.php file into it. Here you can remove the footer #4 sidebar. May require a bit of styling as well but it is possible. Otherwise ask a question on the Avida sales page on Themeforest
